ANALYZING THE ENERGY SAVING IMPACT OF APPLYING VOC OXIDATION CATALYST FOR YOUR EXISTING HIGH TEMPERATURE THERMAL OXIDATION SYSTEM TO REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION, PROLONG EQUIPMENT LIFE, & REDUCE CO/NOx EMISSIONS

Much of the information we are requesting is available from sources including the system operating manual and past Method 25 or 25A EPA air pollution control source tests.

The following information is requested to assemble an energy saving catalyst retrofit proposal. The ADCAT catalyst is designed to reduce your present current operating temperature by up to 60% or and thus pay for itself in less than one years time. This control technology is EPA approved.

What is the operating air volume of your straight through or recuperative thermal oxidation system in standard cubic feet per minute (SCFM)?

What percentage primary air to air heat exchanger are you using if the system is a recuperative thermal oxidizer? What is the hot discharge temperature of the heat exchanger prior to the burner? If there is no primary heat exchanger say NO.

Briefly describe your process?

What is the average exhaust temperature leaving your process prior to oxidizer?

What type of solvents are you using and what is the minimum, average, and maximum VOC loading going to the oxidizer in lbs./hr. or ppm? Please provide solvent name and loading for each constituent.

Do you have any VOC testing data from when the system was originally permitted? Is so, can you send it to us and has anything changed since then?

Do you have any silicone, phosphorous, chlorine, mercury, lead, tin, or zinc in any of your coatings? If yes, which type and what concentration? Please include an MSDS sheet for any coatings you are not certain of.

At what temperature do you currently operate your oxidizer at?

How many operating hours per year is your system running? How many hours per day does the process operate? Are there times when the oxidizer is running without seeing VOC's? Do you have a VFD on the blower?

How much do your currently pay per therm for natural gas?

Do you have a general arrangement drawing of your oxidizer or can you measure the inside dimensions of the combustion chamber?

What type of exhaust fan is being used on the system. Please provide model number, serial number, horsepower of motor driving blower, amperage fan is drawing, and current fan shaft R.P.M.? If not readily available this can be supplied at a later date when wanting to move ahead on the project.
